Wow. Great deal for the Sox. His component numbers are excellent and it looks like he's got some power, too. I guess the Pads are kinda set at C for a while, but I'm still surprised to see them give up this much.

Not that I really know the legal side of it, but do they ever go out and say who it is? The only time you know is if
A. They clear waivers and are of course traded
B. It gets reported from the media
the offical word is always PTBNL...
I also think it may be too good to be true (or in your case too bad) but you never know with the price of pitching, a proven veteran and a playoff proformer even if it is a rental.
