David Bush:WHIP Forecast?

Bush has consistently been Good Month/Bad Month in the WHIP department all season.

He just came off a very good month (and start).
Will his pattern continue and have a bad WHIP September, or will he continue to be effective in preventing baserunners? His season WHIP is great.

His problem is not location.... It is HOME RUNS!!!! Not terrible, but he gives up at least one home run per appearence. It would be nice for him to put a string of games without giving up the long ball.

He has been killed by the long ball this year, other than that he is a good starter on any 12 team league.

I am not so sure about a 10 teamer, it depends on how pitching heavy the categories are.

His WHIP will be fine and he will finish the year with very good numbers overall.

But what I`m looking for is a September of killing WHIP!

WHIP-wise, If you look at Bush`s game log, he had a good April,bad May,good June,bad July,good August. If you believe in patterns he`s due for a bad September.

I think it's pretty silly to look too much into that pattern. Expect his season average.

Exactly...don't try to forecast based on good start/bad start or good month/bad month patterns unless there's a very solid reason for those patterns (like an Aramis Ramirez situation).

As one of the other posters mentioned Bush is a solid play in the whip department...it's the era where he can hurt you. He'll put up very good k's and whip but the era and wins only come if he happens to keep the ball in the ballpark.
