So this jerk face couldn't tell me that. Instead he took 5 minutes to explain to me that I should check my email and the forums.
Irony- The guy with 15,000+ posts complaining that he has to check a forum.
I found that hilarious as well.

Almost sounds like she offered to give you a cardboard box to live in outside of the K-Mart. Was my first thought when I read that.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I don't mind checking the forums. I hate when people won't give me an answer that takes two seconds and instead makes me search for 10 minutes in an unorganized area.
Its just crappy work habit. Tell me how to do something once and I'll remember. I don't need you to tell me to go look it up. This isn't highschool

You'll find that in most jobs though. Don't know the answer? It's documented, so look it up. It's not just your place of work that does that.

Oh I understand but as Helpdesk we are constantly told we are a team. So when I ask for help from a teammate it pisses me off when I'm told to go look it up.
I guess different people learn different ways.
When I was in college we were told to work with our peers and learn from them.

I see both sides of the coin. Working together and doing everything as quickly as possible is important. I also see the other side where people spend tons and tons of hours documenting procedures, explaining how to do stuff, etc, yet it gets ignored because people don't want to "bother" with looking it up, even though they have access to the answer to their question.
Just pointing out both sides to bust your chops a bit.

The it department covers about 30 billion apps and all so looking up things isn't always the easiest thing to do.
Sometimes you need to ask. I just won't ask this douche anymore
If you took a sword to work with you at least for that day people would probably just answer whatever question you wanted help with. Of course...you might not have a job the first day you don't bring it with you.
