I've never been to Portland. Frankly, I don't think Portland is real.

It is real...at least it seems real to me. :-B

And yeah I'm sure Denver does have some awesome locally brewed beers. ;-D

I'd still put the Northwest up against anywhere for the best/most micro brews. Pound for pound we have the best....or should I say 'pint for pint.' :-D

The big breweries put up the money in ad revenue for the GABF. There are 400 breweries. Coors, Anheisuer, sam adams, miller, whatever. make up like 10 of them.

Oregon has really good beer. I like portland although it's not as amazing as everyone told me it was going to be. It's still a pretty sweet city. I'm siping on a Black Butte porter right now.
The GABF is the best beer fest ever. We have a ton of them in colorado though (Beer fests)

The best beer places are Portland (Most Micro's per capita by city)
Colorado (Most Micro's per capita by state)
California (Most micro's total)

Yeah I'm mostly just being a goof. Really any place where they have a lot of beer and call it a festival is awesome. :-b

Black Butte Porter is a good...pretty much everything Deschutes makes is great.

I'm actually thinking about going to a Rogue pub for lunch....or I guess early dinner now. :-B

Do you remember which one you had? There are 3, the Soba Ale, Black Obi, and the Imperial Pilsner all are under the Morimoto name. I haven't had the Black Obi but I know the ale and pilsner are awesome. That's really the type of beer I like the most, ales and pilsners and lagers.....but I'll drink anything. :-D

I had the Mirror Pond Pale last night. I ordered the Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, but they were out, so I was pissed.

Yeah I like the Soba too. I didn't make it out to Rogue this weekend, I went budget style and got a case of Sessions. Sessions isn't micro really but it is bottled by Full Sail. It's just a clean cheap pilsner, in brown hand grenade bottles. :-)

Confirming a long-held suspicion...Rogue's chipotle ale is an excellent addition to a pot of chili.

Session is good stuff.

Is Chipolte beer like a chili beer? Chili beers are good in small quantities
