Uber-league Ideas? Anyone in one?

Postby mamiemell » Wed Aug 30, 2006 1:57 pm

Ok cafe - I need your collective wisdom. A few friends and I realized that we participate in many different fantasy leagues, and of course, we want to know who is the best "overall" fantasy sports manager for EVERY SPORT COMBINED. We developed the idea to have an UBER-LEAGUE whereby you track how well you do in 7 different fantasy sports (baseball, football, basketball, golf, hockey, college pick'em, NASCAR) to crown a winner.

Has anyone ever participated in this kind of "Uber-league"? If so, I am dying for any information. How did you score it? How did you weigh each sport?

We'd have to come up with some sort of scoring system
for each league though, depending on a) the time
committment, b) the number of people in it, c) the
number of uber participants in it.

For example, winning a College Bowl Pick 'Em shouldn't
count as much as winning a full season of fantasy
baseball.

Another thing I was thinking about was doing points
based on number of people and number of uber
participants. For example, if you finish 1st in a
baseball league out of 8 people (and say we use 6 uber
participants) that shouldn't be worth as much as
finishing 1st in a league of 12 people with 8 uber
participants.

Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.
