This is obviously a British thing... not American. We have "vacation," not "holiday" and we don't get nearly as much time off as those Euros do. Plus, we have Labor Day coming up so that is a day off for everyone. I would think right after then is the time people start getting pissy about no more days off and the end of the summer.

Even so, we also have the Thanksgiving holiday which gives most people a couple days off before Christmas and something to look forward to in the fall.

Yeah, this article is faulty and irrelevant to us Yankees.

In Britain, I believe at this time, there's such a holiday called "Bank Holiday" (think it's the last Monday of August) which I suppose is like our Labor Day, as the unofficial end of Summer.
