Pujols is having a nice season, but Howard is willing the Phillies into wild card contention.
Unless Albert goes on a crazy streak and Howard cools off, I think Howard takes it. He's on course for 60+ and that should be enough for most of the voters IMO.
oops, forgot my man, Beltran... eh, I think he'll end up second in the balloting:
At first for me it was Howard, Pujols, Beltran....
Then I thought about it more, and it was Beltran, Pujols, Howard...
Another week or two, and it was Pujols, Beltran, Howard....
And now it is...lets wait till Oct 1st.
Too close to call. However, if Beltran's knee injury slows him down AT ALL it will be a two man race.
In all honesty, I think it is already between Howard and Pujols because I think the presence of Reyes and to a lesser extent, Wright, will take some of his votes.

This could be me, except it changes daily (even hourly). I wouldn't be upset to see either win. I agree with you about a Met winning the award - they'll take votes from each other.
I guess for me it is the fact that if the Phillies manage to sneak into the WC spot, how can a 60HR 150RBI season be ignored? It can't. I won't say he will win it, but I can see why he's in the running.
