Is Josh Johnson in the Cy Young Race?

i see it right now as a 3 man race between Zambrano, Webb, and Carpenter, but if you line up Johnsons numbers with them, they are right on par, minus 3-5 starts thanks to starting in the pen.

truly he fits in with this "cream of the crop" and based on what happens in september, is there any reason to think Johnson cant seriously contend for the Cy Young crown?

Josh should get a few votes but I think he will get the ROY and not the CY unless he is ridiculously good down the stretch.

I think its either Zambrano or Smoltz who are most deserving since they play for dog poo teams and steal have great records and stats

he has no shot....and i dont see what team quality has to do with CY Young. the cy is all about the numbers, and since joshs match up, i dont see why he isnt a top contender.


all in all i think theres a handful of guys with a really good shot at this cy and needless to say i will be avidly following all of these guys with interest in september.
