Rich Harden was able to throw from the top of the mound on Sunday.
This is the first time he's done so since June 4. Harden threw 62 pitches in all -- 15 from the front slope of the mound and then another 15 from the top of the mound. He still has the test of mixing his off-speed pitches, and believes he's a ways from getting to that point. The next step is to throw from the mound again Tuesday and then take a couple of days off. He could rejoin the A's by mid-month and perhaps even get a start or two in, if the team decides they don't want to use him out of the bullpen.
