- Bay owns Jeter in the power department.
- SS is the deepest it's been in what appears to be forever (Reyes, Jeter, Rollins, Glaus, Tejada, Ramirez, Guillen, Hall, Furcal, Lopez, Cabrera, Renteria, Young, Lugo, Peralta).
- While Jeter is a fantastic player, he is playing over his head this season. His OBP is over .400 and his AVG is around .330, yet he hasnt done that since the 2000 season. I expect those numbers to be very good again next year, but I do think they take a small dive which will effect his RBI and R totals.
- Bay has improved his walk rate the last 2 seasons.

For those reasons I will take Bay over Jeter.

I don't know too many knowledgeable owners who would rather have Jeter over Bay. Maybe in 04 but certainly not now or not tomorrow.

SS is far from a thin position. Add Tulowitzki, Wood and Stephen Drew to that list and it is very, very deep. Also, you never know if Upton will get shifted back at some point although I doubt it.
