B.J. Ryan, without question.

He's given up runs in only 5 appearances. Only 4 blown saves, and the team has only lost one of those games.

I'm going with Papelbon here too. Ryan has been great too and is right on his heels. Pap has had a fairly rough Aug. compared to the rest of his season, but he still has given up no more than 2 ER in an appearance. He has the lowest ERA and he's near the top in K/BB. I think depending on the rest of the season it could be a toss up between Pap and Ryan for the best closer this year.

8-o

Mike G. gets mentioned before Otsuka? 8-o

Not saying I think the best closer in baseball this year is Otsuka or anything, just surprised no one's mentioned him, especially with some of the names being thrown out there. :-?

I'm assuming this is for fantasy purposes only so the fact that Mike Gonzalez has not blown a save op. means squat. His save totals and whip means he's not even Top 10 for closers in fantasy.

Jonathan Papelbon is far and away the best fantasy closer in baseball to date. It's not even close. The next best three would be Nathan, K-Rod and Wagner but they are all a distance behind Paps.

Chris Ray also gets no love for his 30 saves. Not totally sure but I think he only has three blown saves. Plus a couple of wins on a not so good Baltimore team. But Ryan gets my vote.

How is M.Gonzalez beating Ryan, Wagner, and K-Rod in the poll? Anyways my vote went to Papelbon.

Todd Jones isn't even a Top 20 closer.
