That was awesome. He's a young humble version of Anderson Silva.

Yeah, I feel like Bones is the UFC equivalent to a highly regarded pitching prospect in that they want to bring him along slowly. At this point, though, he's too impressive to keep fighting down in the middle tier of light heavies. I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say I can't wait for his next fight. Dana said he'd definitely be fighting a top 8 guy... :-L

Me neither, and I think there's a good chance we see him fight again before the year is over. I want to see him get tested though, so far Hamill, Vera and Matyushenko, while good fighters are all on the same tier.

I don't think Jones is ready for the to 4 LHW (Rua, Machida, Rampage and Rashad) although I think if he fights Rashad he would win, but that fight won't happen any time soon since both train under Greg Jackson.

That leaves, Griffin, Franklin, Couture, LIl Nog, Bader and Thiago.

The UFC will not allow Griffin to get embarrassed by Jones and they said they'll handle Bader and Jones like they handle Cain and JDS, only matching them if they are fighting for the belt.

Couture and Franklin would be great names to add to Jones resume, but maybe both are looking for a bigger name to catapult them into the title contention.

Lil Nog is fighting Bader so the only high profile name that's left is Thiago.

Assuming Thiago is healthy that would be an awesome fight, Thiago is a BJJ BB and he will not be afraid to exchange with Jones. If he is able to dominate Thiago the way he has his other opponents, then Rampage or Nog would be next with a possible shot at the belt by this time next year.

Roger Huerta beats up on some fat idiot who sucker punches a chick.

Good for Huerta, that guy deserved it, hopefully Huerta won't get in any trouble for doing the right thing.

Don't forget UFC 117 tonight.

MAIN CARD

•Champ Anderson Silva
vs. Chael Sonnen
•Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch
•Rafael dos Anjos vs. Clay Guida
•Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Hughes
•Junior Dos Santos vs. Roy Nelson

PRELIMINARY CARD

Dustin Hazelett vs. Rick Story
•Phil Davis vs. Rodney Wallace
•Tim Boetsch vs. Todd Brown
•Charlie Brenneman vs. Johny Hendricks
•Christian Morecraft vs. Stefan Struve
•Dennis Hallman vs. Ben Saunders

Toughest fights to call for me are Guida/Dos Anjos and Hughes/Almeida.

Should be a great night of fights.

I think a lot of people are high on Alves since he was still a newbie when Fitch knocked him out last time.

I'm sure it's the Fitch homer in me talking, but I think he grinds out a decision win. The rest of your picks I agree with...

My thoughts on UFC 117

First off it was very entertaining. B-)

Matt Hughes is the sandman. :-D

Clay Guida is the jawbreaker....and he belches really well. :-B

Stefan Struve is very tall...he might need to have his bottom lip sewn back on but that was one of the best comebacks I have ever seen. ;-D

Thiago Alves is not a pit bull, Jon Fitch is. Fitch completely dominated Alves. B-)

Chael Sonnen was almost the new middle weight champ. Dammit Sonnen....you were so freaking close and got sloppy right at the end. God I wanted to see Silva get beat sooooo bad. :-[

Fitch is so boring that I'm not even going to bother to watch the fight. !+)

I think that even if you like Silva, you had to be unimpressed with that fight. Sonnen had a great game plan and executed it for 23 minutes. At least now there's no doubt who the best pound for pound fighter is.

Also, I really liked the Fitch fight. You know that if the crowd's booing, then he's winning...

Lastly, that Big Country sure can take a punch...

I think it's funny that Silva fought so poorly and still came out on top. Speaks a lot to how great he really is.
