I'm not a UFC fan boy Aqua, I haven't paid for a fight in ages. Anyway, if you didn't see Silva's douchiness in that fight then you need to get your eyes checked. He showed zero class. I don't care if he is bored, acting like an ass running around the ring, making faces, spinning your arms around, is just lame. If it was just him trying to avoid any major contact to secure a win then so be it...that is not what he was doing.
As far as there being a pattern to Silva's fights, there most certainly is. He has a pattern of letting up in the later rounds and not engaging. Like you eluded to, that is not what fans of fighting pay to see. Honestly I don't have too big of a problem with him playing it safe, again that's not what he was doing....or at least not all he was doing.
All that said, his skills as a fighter are the reason why he's in this position. Until someone steps up who can actually challenge him there's gonna be much of the same. However just because you're the best at what you do, or are bored with your opponents, or whatever, that doesn't give you license to act like a douche. He could have finished that fight by lightly engaging without looking like a complete ass, or simply finish the fight like he's more than capable of doing. For me it's not about him playing it safe at the end of the fight or not finishing, it's him acting the fool at the end of the fight that bothers me.
Silva will continue to toy with lesser opponent than him. The UFC should get the hint, either give him fights that will challenge him, or expect the same result. AS has done this 3 times already, I think is his way to tell the UFC, you won't give me real opponents? then I won't give you my full potential.
By the way, watching AS do Capoeira was pretty damn cool, I may not agree with some of his antics, but the guy put on a show for 2= rounds. To bad he gassed himself in the process lol.
I thought BJ won the fight 3 rounds to 2. I could see the argument that Frankie won, but 4 rounds, let alone all 5 is a travesty.
Hopefully BJ will stay at LW. Frankie should fight the one man who beat him, Maynard and Florian should fight BJ for #1 contender.
Great fight! One of the best I've watched in a long time. "The Korean Zombie" gets the nomination for the best nickname in MMA - so fitting - dude can seriously take a punch and keep coming.
Also - I didnt see the Aldo/Faber fight - anyone find it online?

I think Dana is happy, but I bet his a little bummed that Fedor didn't lose in the UFC. It would have validated everything he has said about Fedor not fighting top competition.
It was bound to happen though, Fedor made the mistake to think he could beat his opponent at his own game and it backfire big time. I don't think Werdum was hurt, I think he faked it so that Fedor would follow him to the ground and it worked down to a T. Werdm did what Nog couldn't do. And what's amazing is that Werdum made no secret about his gameplan.
SF is a mess now, all their main guys have lost, Mousasi, Henderson, Gina and now Fedor.
