UFC 78 is missing a true headliner which is a shame but the fights on the card are really good IMHO.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Good point.

Very, true.
Both Chuck and Wandy are coming off of two losses, so this is the perfect time for them to fight, IMO. Normally, I would give the edge to Wandy, but considering he hasn't fought in a cage in over 7 years, he may have an adjustment period. Too close to call.
I'm batting a zero lately but I don't think the cage will affect Silva that much. Like you mentioned, it's been awhile but he has fought in it quite a bit. Also, his style is so aggressive and unorthodox. I didn't think the octagon would affect Cro Cop as much as it did. However, looking back at his fights now it's apparent that his traditional kick boxing style (angling and cornering his opponent) totally broke down in the UFC. I don't see Silva having that problem and my guess is his past experience will allow him to handle all of the circling and back-pedaling Chuck does.
As much as it pains me to say this, if I was a betting man my money would be all over Silva. Sure Silva succumbed to two devastating KOs but at the hands of two of the hardest hitters in the sport. Liddel on the other hand has looked outclassed. I'm hoping the "old" Liddel shows up but after that embarrassing performance against Jardine, I won't hold my breath.

This was a bad month for MMA fans. Strikeforce event was just OK. EliteXC was just horrible. UFC Validation was mediocre. I really thought that the talent was there for this card to surprise but it certainly didn't work out that way.
Anderson Silva's next fight is Hendo! How cool is that?

They really needed Hendo to drop down to 185, just so Silva had some competition in that division. It's a shame that the fight won't be until UFC 82.

I like watching Shields & Diaz fight so EliteXC was all right even though Diaz tanked and the Kimbo fight was a bit sketchy.
Good...Silva needs some competition - he's been walking through opponents. Henderson should at least give him a fight, if not beat him.
I also heard Cung Le will be fighting Frank Shamrock.

It looked liked it could be a really competitive card. There were some positives but none of the fights turned out to be that competitive. I guess that's why I was disappointed. Also, I would have much rather seen Kimbo fight Tank.
