With the number of good 1b, I'll probably draft someone else in a shallower position then grab someone like Morneau a couple rounds later.

Well that's just like, your opinion man.

I wouldn't take him in the first, but I'd take him early to mid 2nd round for sure. However, my love affair with Ryan Howard started at the end of last season, and I picked him in the early 4th this year and was shunned by many people on this site.

See this is the thing. When you draft him NEXT year you don't get THIS years stats...... I'm not ready to put him in the perinnial(year to year) 50 150 category yet so I'm not going to take him thinking he can put together back to back 50 150 numbers. I'd grab him in the second rd but not the first.
Jason
Good Point. I am just glad I got him in the 4th round.. and was able to pair him with Albert this year...Wish i was ina keeper....

If Howard does hit 50, people shouldnt be expecting him to top that mark again.
In the Modern era only a few players have hit 50 in consecutive seasons.
McGwire and Sosa did it (and they were on 'roids), and A-Rod and Griffey did it.
He isnt anywhere close to being as proven as those guys are, I would label this as a career year.
