This is purely based on observation since fielding stats fail to accurately guage an outfielder with a great arm. They fail to measure players that don't attempt to run on these guys. One thing I've always loved seeing are guys gunning down would advancing baserunners. Visions of Clemente, Winfield, O'Neill, Whiten, & Mondesi nailing guys from the OF fence at 3B or Home amaze me because so few people can do it. Something to consider, is the best arm the arm that propels a ball like a cannon or an arm that seems more like a sniper rife with its accuracy?
So, who has the best arm in the majors now?
Also, please mention who is quickly becoming a force with their arm?
I'd like to throw Brad Hawpe into the mix. Just got another outfield assist tonight, I think he has around 10 on the year. He has a great arm, though I don't think it's the best in the majors right now.
Personally, while I think Vlad's arm is only rivaled by Francouer in sheer power I don't think he's as accurate as many of the others listed and he often misses the cutoff man in unneeded attemps to show off his arm. I've also seen him throw it completely over the head over catcher.

I actually looked into Hawpe and if I could of expanded the poll to say 15 he would have been included.
vlad's arm is vastly overrated...he has zero accuracy. personally i havent seen anyone with as strong an arm as francouer. ichiro's arm is strong, not VERY strong, its just his accuracy helps him out alot.
