John Smoltz- Cy Young contender?

I think right now any of the 4 of Carpenter, Smoltz, Webb, and Zambrano could win the Cy. Any of the 4 go on a absolutely dominant run the next 5 weeks, and distance themselves a little bit.

I think it is down to Webb and Carp with Smoltz, C-Zam, and Harang having an outside chance. Kind of surprised no one has mentioned Harang yet. :-?

Now, if his bullpen had theoretically gotten him those 6 wins... Maybe but I still doubt it.

Why do you think the AL race is so wrapped up? Who are you giving the nod to? :-?

Exactly. But it's very close...I'd go Johan, but I've heard a lot for Halladay. My point was that between those 2 it's a toss up.

It is a trajedy, but I think the Cy voting is largely based on 2 categories: wins and ERA.

It definitely seems that way, IMO.
