After the game, Tampa Bay put LHP Scott Kazmir on 15-day disabled list (tightness in his left shoulder) and recalled LHP J.P. Howell from Triple-A Durham.

from MLB.com: "Right now, it's a good idea maybe to take some time to let this run its course and get rid of it completely," Kazmir said.

With five weeks left in the season, it's possible that Kazmir will not pitch the rest of the year. Maddon said the team is going to monitor Kazmir's health and let him start pitching again when they feel it's appropriate. Kazmir added that he's hoping to get back sometime in September and possibly make three or four starts.

and even though i traded for him to build for next year.. i am holding on to that last spot in the playoff race..

any chance yahoo will have him on the DL when they update the database this am? I'd like to go ahead and fill that spot with someone for the last day of my matchup.

I've got him in my keeper, as well. I'd just like to have him for the stretch run.
