Branyan traded, Upton everyday & Delmon callup eminent?

Postby s221506 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 3:43 pm

Branyan had been playing RF often(as well as 3B)> So is this is a sign that the Devil Rays are going to play Upton everyday and callup Delmon Young for sure? :-?

Not to mention Gomes impending surgery.

It looks like Delmon might get a lot of PT!

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. DRays management has repeatedly said Delmon is not getting called up in Sept.

Upton had basically been playing 3rd base everyday anyways. He had missed a few games due to some nagging injuries, but yea if healthy, he will play everyday the rest of the year. As far as Delmon, who knows???? I still think personally that he will get a callup in September to play a few games down the stretch. But the word is pretty strong around Durham that the bat throwing will possibly keep him from coming up this year at all.

Don't they realize they're just making Delmon more and more mad? No way Delmon even considers re-signing with the Rays after the way he feels they treated him and continue to treat him. As soon as he's a FA, he's out of there.

He already said that. Thats why they don't really care out they treat him, he is already on record twice as saying he will not stay with the Rays oncehe is a FA.

Wish the kid would learn some humility.

If Delmon gets moved to the Marlins, nobody in DRay land has to worry any more about his attitude.

Is there talk of him going to the Marlins? I haven't heard anything about that. I could see them trading delmon for Pitching.
