I am split on this news.
1. OH CRAPPPPPP. CRAP CRAP. The season is over without Beckett. Oh well, there is always next year. We better get some good pitching in the winter.
2. YES, this makes my Beckett/Buehrle trade FOR Vlad/Rheinecker (I dropped Rheinecker for Hamels) trade look amazingily good.

Still, CRAP.

From Rotoworld:

Beckett leaves start with finger blister

Josh Beckett left Thursday's game against the Angels in the seventh inning with an apparent finger blister.
Beckett, who had thrown six scoreless innings, didn't want want to go, but catcher Doug Mirabelli called the trainer to the mound and the decision was made to remove him. Beckett was in the middle of his best start since Mirabelli caught his 1-0 win over Kansas City on July 19. However, for reasons only Terry Francona knows, Mirabelli hadn't handled again him until now. It's obvious the two work well together, and if Beckett can avoid the DL, they better be paired again next week. Aug. 25 - 12:15 am et

Well the buzz going around is that it may be a blister. Beckett's was getting shelled because he was avoiding the stuff that gives him blisters until last night.

Maybe he needs to start peeing on his hands to toughen 'em up. :-D

I heard a cut too, at least that's what the Angels announcers were saying.
