he gets rest every once and awhile for his knee, not very often these days but the sox had a rough series over the weekend, i doubt its anything bigger than just a routine day off...

I don't think it really matters, but if for some reason they do make it back it will be good to have him healthy.

It's not a routine day off. He tweaked his hammy running the bases in game 5 of the yankees series. I am assuming they are keeping him out as a precautionary measure.
