Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

The Mets get a veteran for the playoff run, but the big thing is that Quentin should definitely be getting plenty of playing time now in Arizona.

Good news for Quentin owners. Also shows yet another instance of Arizona willingness to let the youngsters play.

I suspect Counsell is next to leave, followed by Gonzo.

I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. The depth and protection of the Mets lineup should help him out compared to what he was getting in Arizona and maybe a playoff run will light a fire under him. I'd like to see how much cash Arizona sends before I judge this completely.

Well if WFAN hasn't confirmed it must be a fake. :-D

I don't know. I've been going back and forth between 1050 and WFAN. I thought WFAN did mention it.

Aug 22 ESPN.com reports the New York Mets acquired OF Shawn Green and cash from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Further details were not released at this time.

Thinking he'd be batting 6th in their lineup right behind Wright?

Well there's definitely more Jews in New York than Arizona. Maybe that'll fire him up.
