Mussina leaves with groin tightness
Boston, MA (Sports Network) - New York Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina left Sunday's game against Boston after four innings due to tightness in his groin.
Mussina allowed three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts over his outing, which also included a 57-minute rain delay after the second inning.
Yankees manager Joe Torre said during the game's telecast that Mussina has had the ailment for the last month.
The 37-year-old right-hander, who left with the game tied at 3-3, is 13-5 on the season with a 3.61 earned run average.
