Disgraceful.

Worst in a long tally of terrible trades Bavasi has made this year.

I would have fully supported not re-signing Moyer after the end of last season, but to re-sign him and then trade him after the deadline in a waiver trade for two minor leaguers is just a spineless decision.

Moyer has given 10 years to the Mariners, he should have at least been allowed the dignity of one last standing O from the home crowd.

I am literally sick.

Moyer is a native of the Philadelphia area and the Phils are 2.5 back in the NL wildcard. Also, Phil's GM Gillick has a good relationship with Moyer.

Any opinions on how the move to the NL and the move from pitcher friendly SafeCo to homer happy Citizens Bank will counterbalance each other?

Right away I thought, oh boy Moyer can't pitchaway from SafeCo, what a dreadful deal. But, then I looked at Moyer's interleague numbers from the last three seasons.

I think he'll do ok against teams that haven't seen him lately.

I wouldn't feel particularly comfortable starting him the second time he faces a team, however. In fact, his second time through the lineup may be dicey ...
