Try not to laugh too hard, but the movie that scared the hell out of me as a kid was The Wizard of Oz. The original black and white version. Seriously, those munchkins, flying monkeys and the Wicked Witch freaked me out. Especially when she flew around on her broomstick writing the words "Surrender Dorothy!" I had nightmares for days.
