Hey Lidle, you're 34 years old and you need 5 days b/c you're grandmother died?? right in the middle of THE biggest series of the year for the Yankees??? Um, ......dude, you're not 10 years old and you're not playing in Philly anymore!!! Send some flowers to the funeral home and stay with the team!!! Not that you wouldn't have gotten rocked in Boston anyway, but try to act like you care about your new team.
Sorry if all that sounds too insensitive to all you who are in love with your grandmother, but these things tend to happen after you turn about 24 years old, much less 34.

That is appalling, and not funny in the least.
But the decision to go on the bereavement list, likely wasn't Lidle's. Lidle wouldn't start again for another 5 days anyway, and it gave the Yankees a chance to bring up another arm for today's doubleheader in Bruney.

i dont know about the decision.. but maybe you aren't/weren't as close with your grandmother as he was.. this could really be taking a huge take on his mental side of things.. if he has to take the time to go visit his grandmother then i'd let him do that.. wouldn't want him to pitch a terrible game rather than taking a couple days off..
your acting like it's a pet you don't really care about..
im sure many pitchers would have difficulty pitching a couple days after their grandmother dies and doesn't even go to visit her..
Zaz, wtf is ur problem? Do u know how close he was to his grandmother? Do u realize she was a family member who is deceased now? Big series or not, how heartless would it be not attending ur own grandmother's funeral! Keep ur stupid, insensitive, idiotic, heartless comments to ur self. That was just total bull!

Come on, think before you post next time. I mean you're bashing a guy for going to his grandmother's funeral. Some things are more important than baseball, and this is clearly one of them.
