Poor Brandon Webb. Imagine his record with the Braves offense. He has what, 20 quality starts? That should be good for 20 wins and maybe one or two losses, since he only gave up 4 er once. 20-2 or something like that, WOW

I don't think Ortiz will win the Cy. His era is just too high. His record is due to the Braves offense, not his pitching.

Yep, Webb's record would be unbelievable with the Braves offense behind him.

Or Kevin Brown as well. Even Zito would have a good record with some sort of offense behind him.

He did ok. Picked up a win and 5 K's. Hose five walks are kinda ugly though! Oh well...Russ Ortiz for Cy Young! ;-D

Remember Chris George (SP-KC)? He usually gives up somewhere between 6-7 runs and still picks up a win....If Russ doesn't deserve to pick up the win, who does? Millwood maybe?

If you own Ortiz, you just basically have to make a decision not to watch/listen to the first 3 innnings of any game.

He has given up more runs in the first inning than any other (26). He picks up steam as he moves along and his concentration improves. If he can beat the first inning curse -- which is purely a mental thing -- then he'll be an elite pitcher.

Now he's a good pitcher with superb run support.
