Oswalt - X-Ray is Negative

No break in Os' wrist. Good news - but he still may miss his next start (Saturday in Milwaukee).

Stats:

Aug 16 X-rays were negative on Oswalt's right wrist, but manager Phil Garner was uncertain whether Oswalt would make his next scheduled start, in Milwaukee on Saturday. Oswalt was hit by Ronny Cedeno's line drive in the seventh inning of Monday's 3-0 loss. He stayed in the game and finished the inning, but was done after that. "He's very sore and we're in the ol' day-to-day," Garner said. "I don't know now if he's going to be able to make his next start. I'm hoping that he will."

hmmm I read a blurb on my league website (tqstats.com) that he's supposed to throw today and as of now, they still have him penciled in to start Saturday.

I'm in my playoffs this week and already gettiong screwed b/c of Edmonds, if Oswalt misses his second start I'm done!

Oswalt, who was forced to leave his start Monday after six innings when he was hit on the wrist by a line drive, was encouraged with how he felt Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reports.

That seems encouraging, but we'll see what happens.

Anyone have any new Oswalt news? I have to have my weekend lineup in by 11 AM today and if he cant go Saturday or its still unknown I'd have to start his opponent instead (D.Bush)

Aug 18 Oswalt (wrist) made approximately 60 throws on flat ground on Thursday, but still isn't sure if he'll be able to make his scheduled start on Saturday against the Brewers, the team's official site reports.

Recommendation: Oswalt said he felt fine throwing fastballs, but curveballs "didn't feel too great." "I'm 50-50 on it," general manager Tim Purpura said of the decision to let Oswalt start on Saturday. "While I'd like him to, the prudent thing to do might be to wait. But it depends on [how he feels] today, tomorrow." We'll update Oswalt's status when more information is available.

I'm going to bench him.
