Kevin Correia a good spot start?

Postby LCBOY » Mon Sep 08, 2003 5:36 pm

The Giant's Kevin Correia pitches tomorrow against the Padres. A good spot start?

Pro:
1) He has pitched well this year 1-1 record, 2.05 ERA, 17/7 K/BB ratio in 22.0 IP.
2) The Padres haven't seen him yet.
3) Road ERA is 3.00 which included a start at Colorado (5 IP, 2 ER).

Con:
1) He is a rookie.
2) The game is on the road (road ERA 3.00).
3) The Padres have all of a sudden become a dangerous team with Nevin and Giles.

and watch him get his bell rung ... he better keep his picthing out of the way of Burroughs Batted Ball too. .. :-)

On a side note, Ben Howard I believe gets the duty against Barry!

100mph pitch + Fastest swing in baseball + More career Barry launches vs. San Diego ===
well its eguals , hmmmm,

665 ft ... setting a real distance record (measurable at least) IMO LOL :-)
Friar Wire, Dodgers FAIL, Mets FAIL.

Nah, I'd sit him. The Pads have some good bats, and I wouldn't trust a rookie to shut them up... :-t

I wouldn't. The Pads are hitting the ball now.

The Pads are HOT. They just kicked the you know what out of a hot Wade Miller. So I wouldn't spot start an uknown against the Pads. No way. :-t

Correia might get the win. The G-Men are now ahead 6-1 after JT and Grissom's 2-run jacks.
