Alright, so this a pretty big talk radio story here in San Diego. Yesterday, a man was convicted of his EIGHTH drunk driving offense, which was also his THIRD hit and run (this one killed a 19 year-old girl), yet he's only getting 4 years and eight months in prison. What a joke.

My question is why was he given to oppurtunity to correct himself 7 times? People who repeat the offense should not be allowed to drive anyways. :-t

Ridiculous. They should be able to find the judges he had in previous cases liable for damages. Although whether he was drunk or not when the accidents happened shouldn't even be an issue.

A Clairemont man with a history of drunken driving was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison yesterday for running down and killing a young woman in July 2005.

This is exactly why the judicial system is a joke. :-t

4 years and 8 months for KILLING someone? 8-o

I'll strap him in the chair and flip the switch of death myself on live television. Send his sorry tail down here to Texas where we actually USE our electric chairs!

Outrageous - was this driver even insured? Does the family at least have an adequate civil remedy against him for the loss of their child? The worst thing would be if he turns out to be judgment proof and they can't even collect the 50k that was already awarded to them.

How this driver was able to avoid the confiscation of his license and his car after his 3rd DWI offense, let alone his 4th,5th, 6th etc is amazing, or rather, disgusting

You'd think after one DUI, you probably wouldn't do it again.

What a pathetic piece of feces. I don't normally wish something as horrible as death or prison rape on anyone, but this selfish bastard deserves whatever the hell he gets.

That is absolutely pathetic that the judge only allowed him to get 4 years and 8 months.
