dont know if this was directed at rich or me, but wheeler is not avaliable in my league (he was drafted actually).

gonzo has been money all year, its just too bad the pirates suck so much, gonzalez would have more like 28-35 saves right now if he played on a contender. :-[
Vaughn: What's that sh*t on your chest?

Harris: Crisco, Bardol, Vagisil. Any one of them will give you another two to three inches drop on your curve ball.

That's it, I am about to drop him for Saunders or Billingsley!!

I have tried trading him but no one wants him.

I just dropped every-other-day Eddie Guardado for Wheeler. Eddie's having arm troubles and doesn't expect to be very regular the rest of the way. And the blown saves are killing me.

By the sounds of it, you guys are thinking Wheeler takes over as closer. But it is a Closer by Committee. Are either of those jokers worth anything if its a committee?

I'd rather take an occasional save by Wheeler than the unpredictability, blown saves, high era and whip of Eddie Guardado. And there's always the chance that Wheeler steps up to the point that the Astros decide to let him close the rest of the way. From the sound of it, Eddie's dinged up bad. It's a trade off I'm willing to take at this time.

I honestly have to agree with this. Eddie's pitching on pure heart at the moment. I've watched several of the games in which he's pitched. Even when the results are good the pitching doesn't look that great. And it's not a lack of skill and/or talent. It's not mental. The guy's shoulder is a wreck and has been for the better part of 18 months. His forearm is killing him. It hurts his forearm to follow through and his shoulder can't go to full extension anymore. His velocity suffers and when he can't gut it out to follow through all the way his command suffers as well. Honestly I don't know how he's been pitching through the shoulder issues for the last 18 months...the forearm just clinches it.
