Andrew Jones Injury

News: Andruw Jones was scratched from the Braves' lineup shortly before their game against the Nationals on Tuesday night because of a left knee injury. Jones was replaced in center field by Ryan Langerhans, while Adam LaRoche was moved up from seventh in the batting order to Jones' cleanup spot.

Analysis: The Braves said Jones has patellar tendinitis in his left knee and listed him as day to day. The club said he was available to pinch hit. He's hitting .274 with 29 homers and 100 RBI this season. This should be a temporary setback at this point, but certainly track this throughout the week.

Patellar tendinitis is something that causes pain but no mechanical symptoms. Most likely just a night off from the field to quiet down the barking.

A local sportcaster showed a highlight of him rounding first base and he slipped on the bag and kind grabbed his knee heading while heading into second base.

Andruw Jones was scratched from the lineup Tuesday with a sore left knee, aggravated when he hit it on Langerhans' spikes in a freak clubhouse accident Monday.

Langerhans replaced him in center field Tuesday.

"When it happened I said, 'You must really want to play, dude,' " joked Jones, who said he expects to play Wednesday or Thursday. "It was just an accident. He didn't mean to do it."

I need him back as well, really bad, missing his numbers. If he would only quit going down to his knee when he swings the bat, that has to be the reason for the irritation.
