From CBS Sportsline:

News: The Astros requested waivers on OF Preston Wilson for the purpose of granting him his unconditional release.

Analysis: Apparently they didn't get much offered in trade. Consider the busted-up outfielder nothing more than a flier in the deepest of leagues now. He could sign on somewhere as a reserve, but his productivity doesn't figure to spike away from Houston.
