Aug 13 New York Mets manager Willie Randolph said on Saturday Floyd is "not even close to playing." The team is considering shutting him down for a while in hopes of saving his season. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.

He's probably done for the season IMOP.

Aug 15 Updating previous items, Mets.MLB.com's Marty Noble reports New York Mets OF Cliff Floyd (Achilles), who is on the disabled list, is working out in a pool in Port St. Lucie, Fla., and wearing a special boot to reduce strain on his left Achilles tendon. Mets manager Willie Randolph said he didn't think the injury was a serious one and that Floyd would be back for the stretch run.
