His wife underwent an emergency c-section to deliver twins that were not due to be born until September. He has been placed on the bereavement list. Under MLB rules, if you are placed on this list you are automatically inactive for a minimum of three games.

this gives sexson owners a reason to finally dump his ass...it would've been better if he went on the DL or something..

No thanks. I stuck with him through the lean times early on; I'm going to reap the meager rewards now with his HRs and RBIs.

Are you kidding? You're going to dump him now, after his long slump? He's only missing 3 games. Enjoy the WW fodder.

With twins (barring other complications of course) one month shouldn't be all that bad. Very few twin pregnancies go to 40 weeks so this isn't necessarily as bad as it sounds at first. Now there could be reasons behind the emergency c-section that make this worse than I'm thinking it is initially but assuming it was something that just made it necessary to deliver the babies but wasn't causing any physical harm at the time they should have two happy and healthy babies to bring home with them some time soon.

It seems a lot of new fathers in MLB come back and hit a home run in their first game back...I wonder if this means a two home run day for the double-daddy Richie. :-?
