I've had some extremely rough ones to take in the last few weeks, culminated in tonight's game:
1) I have A-10, board comes out 10-3-7. Bet hard, one guy calls. Turn is another 3, bet harder, other guy calls, which makes me think he doesn't have a 3, but maybe a 7 or a 10 (and I'd have the ultimate kicker so I'm good.) River is a 4 or something, and I bet hard again.
Well, he didn't have a 3.
He had pocket J's.
Very next hand - very next hand:
2) Pocket aces. I go all-in. One guy calls with A-10.
He catches a straight on the turn.
And for good measure,
he catches a flush on the river.
End of the night for me. I have nights just as bad as this regularly. Chalk it up to bad karma or something.
So I don't feel so bad about myself, let's relish in the times where we just got our pants handed to us on a silver platter, eh?

Yeah DK, I wouldn't call that first one a bad beat. Did he raise preflop? Can't really call it a bad beat when he had you beat at every stage of the hand.

what site?
Live neighborhood game.
Smoove, nah, he didn't raise preflop. Someone else did, though, and we both just called it. I suppose the first one isn't really a bad one, but it was bad for me since I was confident I had him beat at every stage and when he turned them over it was just like, "Aw, crap." I mean, I know he had me beat and all, but the part that made it suck was that I had no idea that was coming.

Yeah it was only $11 and that's my limit with SNG's because if it was any more than that I'd be extremely aggravated.

I am holding KK in MP and raise it 3X the BB, a player who is new to my table reraises it from the BB and I call.
Flop comes down KK2. He takes the lead, bets out approx 3/4 of the pot. I smooth call. Turn is a 3. He now has about the same amount in his stack that is in the pot, and pushes all in. I insta-call.
I flip over my quad K's, he shows the A5 of diamonds for the nut flush. However, as most of you have already figured out, the 2 was a diamond, the 3 on the turn is a diamond, and that magical 4 of diamonds comes out on the river and gives him a straight flush A2345 for diamonds. Too bad I wasn't holding the K of diamonds in my hand. Perhaps he doesn't make that semi-bluff/cont bet on the flop without a flush draw.

Ouch. Goodbye buy in.
Ouch, that's hard. Damn.
Now I feel a lot better about my loss tonight. Thanks.

I do what I can.
Amazingly, that is the second time I've lost with quads...the other time was when my 88 lost to 99 on a runner runner at a casino in a 1-3 limit game. At least it was limit.
