Radke hurt

"Aug 14 Radke has a torn labrum, and he's not considering surgery since he plans to call it quits after the season. For someone who has never been a strikeout specialist, such a weakness has made Radke's fastball even more vulnerable. That made it more critical for one of the game's best control pitchers to work the corners and effectively change speeds."

So is this a new injury thats surfaced or has he been playing with this? I picked him up a week or so ago because of his hot streak. I am assuming this must be a new injury because I don't see how an injury can produce a hotstreak.

Based on the comments made by the announcers in the Jays/Twins game a couple days ago, this is an injury that he has pitched through most of the season, including his recent hot streak.

Apparently he's taking such precautions that he does not use his right hand for ANYTHING between starts... as in when he showers he'll soap/shampoo with his left hane, when he eats he'll use his left hand... all just to protect his right arm by minimizing movements.

So in short, this hot streak he's on has been done despite this injury, so don't worry about your recent pick-ups.

Thanks, good info. I might bail on him anyway though just cause I don't seem him being good for much longer than he has.
