Dye was removed as a precaution, the team said. He was hit in the left calf with a pitch from Mark Redman in the fourth inning, when Chicago scored eight runs. Ross Gload replaced Dye in right field to start the fifth. "

thanks bigmoney! dye has had calf problems in the past, so it just sounds like they were being careful. i can't afford to lose him, so I hope he's ok.

no update on status but i'd say he's gonna start. i mean HBP does not sound serious at all...

From what I could see, it was not the type of impact that causes any permant injury, just some bruising that lasts a day or two at most. The Sox might use it as an excuse to give Dye an off day since they're already facing a really bad KC pitcher at it is, the guy is 2 and 7 woth more walks than Ks and an 8.15 ERA... kind of a shame because it's the kind of guy Dye could feed on. Watch the boards to see what the Sox sayabout Dye, if Dye is starting t day, with this Pitcher, you defintiely want dye in your line up.
