Bay Out?

Jason Bay is not listed in the lineup tonight against Milwaukee. He played in 162 games last year and I thought he had a modest streak going. Is he hurt or something, or is he just getting the night off?

I negleted to mention folks, that Jason Bay is not playing tonight because he's taking the evening off to rest, of course you all would already know this because your following tonight's game on CBS Sportsline's Gameday, hint hint. With that being said, though Mr. Bay I'm sure is missed in the batting line up, he isn't needed because Jeromy Burnitz strokes his 16th ball of the season out of the ball park to tie this game up. MIL 2, PIT 2.

I am watching the game on MLB and they said he just did not see the point of continuing the streak if his hamstring could get worse.

It does not sound serious at just precautionary.

How many games was he at? I was hoping he'd become the Canadian, and lesser, version of Cal.

Aug 14 The Associated Press is reporting Pittsburgh Pirates OF Jason Bay (hamstring) saw his streak of 307 consecutive games played end on Aug. 14 after he strained his right hamstring while stretching before the Aug. 13 game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Bay last was out of the lineup on Sept. 4, 2004.

Pittsburgh media is reporting that he'll probably sit today and Wednesday, although he'll be available to pinch hit, if needed. He should be back in the starting lineup on Friday.
