Juan Cruz getting Estes' rotation spot?

Postby kcs261 » Sun Sep 07, 2003 1:10 am

Anybody hear anything yet? I thought Cruz pitched more than well enough on Friday to deserve that spot. I was just curious if any official annoucnement has been made. I think Juan Cruz could be a very nice addition down the stretch. Kudos to those of you who told me start him on Friday over Eaton. ;-D

Sounds like a question for DHC. I'll agree that he could be a nice addition if he's actually taken the starter's spot from Estes.

He definitely gets a lot of Ks. He also plays on a good team with a cake schedule down the stretch. I've got my fingers' crossed.

Ah.......Juan Cruz. I remember seeing him pitch 2 innings with 6 K's on opening day against the Mets so I picked him up. He was back on the WW in a week or 2. He seems to be throwing much better now.

I don't know why the Cubs are hesitant to declare him the 5th starter outright. It seems like an easy decision to me. Estes has been pitching like junk.
