i don't know a source but I watch most of the A's games and I do recall the announcers saying that he is getting near 100%

Chavez definitely is getting healthier because he is hitting to the opposite field which was painful for him earlier in the season

i would pick him up if you have the room

This was reported a few weeks ago. And he still hasn't hit for squat lately. He seems to be walking more lately, so maybe that is a sign of good things to come. But he won't be seeing my lineup anytime soon.
