everyone's been talking about the other stud young pitchers but what about this guy? he didnt give up a single ER in three consecutive games, and last night took a one hitter into the sixth inning (essentially made a couple of mistakes for HRs, other than that was dominant). forget garza, go pick up this guy.

Hes gonna start getting hit soon..but he might be ok for 1-2 more starts...he simply doesnt have the pedigree or stuff of the other stud rookies.

mike and the maddog were talking about this guy a couple weeks back when they had omar minaya on the show..he said that he was the key guy involved in the trade with baltimore last winter..minaya later said he sees maine as being a better prospect then john patterson. i know patterson isnt a prospect, but you get what im saying

He is by no means a stud and cannot keep playing at his current level. But, I think he will be a solid number three starter. He has had trouble with the longball, giving up 6 HR in 44.1 IP this season, with 8 of his 13 ER on balls that left the park. A lot of times, he seems to be lights out, then just throw a string of poorly located pitches that get blasted. If he can work on keeping the HR's down...

I picked him up as my 7th starter behind oswalt schilling verlander mussina beckett and contreras, so based on ur analysis I guess he's worth the risk...
