Shin Soo - Choo -- is this guy for real?

He's been doing a real nice job since playing for the indians full time. Is it time to consider him a legit fantasy option?

Well, I think he's going to platoon and I don't think the power will hold up completely. But, he was expected to be a pretty solid player, with good all-around skills.

what about Ryan Garko? I thought the guy would be a Huber type, sure outperformed that?

any projection over a full season of starting for Garko? :-)

He was sort of a 5-tool player (not that he was excellent at all 5, though) who was good enough for the Futures Game in 2005. The Mariners chose him over Snelling and Adam Jones when an opening came in the Seattle OF with Reed's broken thumb. He's performing basically like he did in Tacoma.
Chris Iannetta was born on Krypton and transported to Earth as an infant and saves the universe when he's not getting on base every plate appearance.

I think Choo's a good option when the Indians face a righty. He's not a good option if your league doesn't have a bench, but in the Indians' lineup, batting 5th or 6th, against right-handed pitching, he's useable.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

I think Choo was one of Baseball America's top 50 prospects a year or two ago, so he's definitely a solid player. Whether he improves enough to merit fantasy ownership remains to be seen, but he's got the ability to do so.

http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/ ... Choo.shtml

has had very good minor league seasons, and his AAA line this season was .323/.394/.499 with 13 HR and 26 SB in 94 G. he's been betting between 5th and 7th for the indians, and i'm very happy to have snagged him in my deep $$ league

Did he not start tonight? If not, any particular reason? Is he in a platoon or an everyday starter?

He bats lefty and the Tribe was facing Johan Santana. I believe he is in a platoon with Franklyn Guiterriez. Shoo plays against righties. Against Santana tonight, be glad he didn't play.
