i have no idea who this kid is, but hey, he's got some game. i saw how hot he was and nabbed him for thursday's getaway day, and have kept him since (in place of manny ramirez who has rode my bench for the hot hand)

he got a 3 run HR today off of probable AL cy young winner esteban loaiza.

in roughly 410 at bats this season, jo-dee is putting up ~.280/20/71 with only 58 K and a .500 slugging %. while those aren't albert pujols rookie numbers, they certainly aren't anything to sneer at by any means.

i think he should get some AL rookie of the year consideration along with angel berroa and hideki matsui. i think they'll give it to matsui, who's putting up .283/15/92... but then again, c'mon, technically he's a MLB rookie, but it's a big nose-up to japanese baseball to discount that league... i'd think it should be berroa or gerut... or hell, if he wasn't hitting .230, monroe from detroit.

nevertheless, he's a nice option to have for mondays and thursdays when you've got games to spare and you're in a fantasy-league-pennant chase.

i liked gerut since i first saw him hit. what sucks is that he's now putting up solid numbers, and will no longer be a major sleeper for next year, like i was hoping.

i figure he'll be about where pat burrell was going into this year. you won't be able to get him in round 18... but after you get your core team, if you think he'll be all that next season, he'll be there for you.

i drafted burrell in like the 6th or 7th round in one league this year thinking he was a sleeper for 45 home runs.

fortunately, i managed to package him and raul ibanez for carlos beltran.... to the same guy i traded paul konerko straight up for woody williams...

it looks like the woody will express has ran out of gas, but still, it was a great run early on in the season before buehrle, vazquez, woody will, and a couple other people shot my era up from like 3.35 to 4.05, and now it rests at 4.04 or soemthing.
