In my money league, I just made a trade that the commish vetoed. At the time it had 3 teams voting for the trade and 1 voting against.
The trade itself was not vetoable (I thought I was getting a good deal, but it was fair).
The reason the commish vetoed it was because he said the other team was close to the max innings pitches so the pitchers I would send him are useless and therefore the trade is unfair. I don't think the innings limit should determine a veto. If the trade is fair, it goes through. If a team isn't paying attention to thier innings, then they are only hurting themselves.
Am I wrong? Should a commish veto a trade based on a team's innings pitched?
Thanks.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
Ive never liked the Commish veto in the first place, but if there is a Commish veto I think it should only be used if their is cheating or the trade is extremely lopsided.
This trade might not help the other owner because of the innings pitched but thats for the other owner to decide, not the commish. I see it as a similar situation to if the Commish vetoed a trade of Crawford for Manny because the owner getting Crawford already had the lead in steals. It shouldnt be the Commish's place to decide something like that, its the other owners fault for not paying close enough attention
But, I hate the veto in general, but I think there is a solid case here. Does the guy only have a 100 left? Its like you get to deal the pitchers out, but don't have to worry about the effect on your score except for the absence of their stats, they won't move anybody UP too.
It's a points league. I'll put the points next to each player they have so far.
I trade
Smoltz - 1650
J. Davis - 400
Iguchi - 975
for
Soriano - 1800
E. Brown - 900
I'm not sure how close he is to the innings limit, but I think over half the teams are above the pace.
