The problem is that he has way too many miles on his young arm. The Japanese are notrious for having high pitch outings and many IP in a single season. His Major league team will have to as careful with him as they would be with Pedro, in order to aviod serious injuries.


The best thing is to hope that Matsuzaka is one of those freaks like L. Hernandez who can take the abuse. He's very high risk/high reward.


I would still pay 20 million to his current team, if he is posted, to get the rights to sign him.
