the guy only(i use the term lightly) hits for high average.. he scores few runs cuz the guys behind him (betemit, lugo) suck ass and dont ever knock him in.. and he doesnt get too many ribbies cuz furcal and lofton get on but nomar knocks em in and then drew and kent suck it up and end the inning before ethier can get a shot at rbis. this week he only has 2runs, 2rbis and the week is nearly over.

Since the break, Ethier has hit .343, 5HR, 15rbi's and 14r. Even with the holes in LA's lineup, that's a pace of 30HR, 90plus rbi's and 90 runs, not to mention an incredible batting average.

No complaints here! ;-D

i'm just trying to be devils advocate here.. trying to find a reason to drop him and i cant find one. although.. much of that "since the break" stats are from a time when both kent and nomar had stints on the DL.. and this week they are back and his runs and rbis are down.. but his average is still up. something to consider.. thats all

3 of his ABs tonight were against a red hot schmidt so I wouldn't worry too much.

can't disagree with that, i was listening on the radio for a bit on the drive home from somewhere and the announcers seemed mighilty impressed w/ both schmidt and maddux...

Looks like Andre is getting some rest tonight. He struggled against Schmidt yesterday----but so did the rest of the Dodgers.
