How? Both teams won in Detroit. Boston won at Comiskey, and whilst the Yankees lost there, they did sweep the Wrong Sox at home. Then there's the AL West winners, who will have the worst record of any team in the postseason. If, heaven forbid, I were a Yankee fan, I wouldn't be unduly scared of any of that lot.

Comiskey Park closed in 1990.

New Comiskey Park's last year was 2002.

Why are you bringing up the past? We're talking about THIS season.

Hey, Ted Williams hit a home run at Comiskey. :-B :-D ;-)

I know. I just hate corporate ballpark names. Will always be New Comiskey to me.

Well the Yankees have struggled with the Angels for years, but besides that I think either the Yanks or Sox could get to the WS.

Me too. I hate them ALL.

Viagra Park, Ronco Field, Welch's White Grape Juice Arena, Derek Jeter Cologne County Stadium, Deep-Fried Twinkies Stadium...

They're all stupid.

I'm glad Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Shea Stadium, even a new park like Oriole Park at Camden Yards haven't taken the sponsorshpi plunge. They day we lose THOSE ballparks is the day that baseball is no longer the national past-time, it will be nothing more than a business. It really IS already, but we still have some old traditions that keep it the game we love, like those fields, high socks, wooden bats, hot dogs...

We've lost so many great staduims (or at least names) to this corporate crap...Mile High Stadium, Candlestick Park, Tiger Stadium, even the unthinkable...Comiskey. :(

oh and by the way you guys are toast. 1-5 on a 6 game road trip vs the devil rays and KC.

now in your last 58 games you have 32 against teams with a +.500 record.

Did you miss that tha Yanks got swept by the Royals last year? And I believe they lost the season series to TB :-D

We'll take 2 out of 3 from Balt and 3 out of 5 from the Yanks ;-D

I think that you are forgetting that the AL has much better teams than it had last year, when the Yanks and Sox almost automatically had playoff spots. I also think you're forgetting that the Yanks didn't go anywhere last year, so I guess getting swept by the Royals is the new "curse" :-b

And with the Yankees winning the first 3 games in the 5 game series in Fenway, I'd say it's definately not looking good for the Sox ;-D
go 49ers!!!!!

trying to think here, what would 120 million dollars buy, other than a baseball team that won't be playing in October ..

* 120 million would pay the entire team salaries of the Cincinatti Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks, Combined. Arroyo anybody?

* 120 Million would pay for the Florida Marlins 8 times over, not to mention they even had a running start (pun) on a few of their players too .. ;-7

anybody have any other suggestions?

$120 million could pay for 367 Cla Merediths.

That would be 8563 consecutive scoreless innings.
