Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
That sucks!! I don't care if the Braves win but when I saw the title of the thread, I knew that Chipper (or Javy) hit a dong to win it. The guy I'm playing this week in the playoffs has both of them.
I guess that for me to win, Pierre has to hit 5 more this week.

hey super, what do you think of the braves' chances in the postseason?
their offense seems to be markedly better than it has been in years past.. the revitalizing of furcal and the establishment of giles seem to give them the deepest lineup that they've had in awhile...
but what about their pitching? maddux has been hot but even in his best years he wasn't mister automatic in the playoffs... their bullpen seems to be a step or two down from last year, and while i think smoltz is just being rested more than needing to heal from a major injury, if anything happens to him i'd think they're in a wee bit of trouble.
it's one thing to have a good offense, but in the playoffs you need a good offense that can hit good to great pitching. can this incarnation of the braves do that?

The Giants exposed the Braves offense two weeks ago. Totally shut them down!
Hmm, it's gonna be hard....With their offense they should be a lock for a world series win...If they just wouldn't choke every year. The two games vs. the Pirates last night didn't really impress me all that much. neither did the sweep by the mets @ shea. If they can get their act together and all start hitting at the same time, the Braves should be able to win the world series, no matter how bad the bullpen is....

If all that it took was offense, then the Red Sox would have won a few over the years. A lock? With that bullpen, they are anything but a lock. Lucky for them, everyone else has pen problems, too. If your bullpen doesn't perform in the playoffs, then you can't win the series. With starting pitchers going fewer and fewer innings now, the bullpen is where it's at come playoff time. If their hitting comes around for the playoffs, they still better be prepared to win 3-2 games rather than 10-8 games.
