Hafner...1B Elgibility

Postby jake_twothousandfive » Thu Aug 10, 2006 7:45 pm

i just traded for hafner a few days ago and was wondering how close he was to gaining firstbase elgibility...i looked it up and saw that he only needs one more start to gain elgibility in yahoo leagues...any chance he gets it even with interleague play over?...like i said i have only had him for a game or two so i don't really know his tendencies and what the indians usually do with him...does he have a chance? or is this just wishful thinking?

Unless Garko, V-Mart and Blake all go on the DL at the same time, it probably won't happen.

in yahoo leagues he is 1 game away from gaining eligiblity. though he was 1 game away from getting it back during interleague play. he has some injury that doesn't effect his swing but doesn't allow him to play the field because he says it hurts to throw. because of that i doubt he sees a start at first for the rest of the season, unfortunately.

I agree with the others. I doubt if he will see playing time at 1B unless the Indians have a lot of players go to the DL like Blake and Martinez. Well Blake is on the DL now, so Martinez. But I still would doubt they would put him on first base if he has trouble throwing.

He will NOT play 1B again this year, and maybe ever. He has a chronic probelm with his elbow, and he cannot throw very well. You'll just have to live with him at Util. That hasn't been a problem for me!! ;-D

It's a problem for me. :-[ I want to be able to bench Todd Helton and use Hafner at 1B but NOOOOO big fat Pronk has to clog up UTIL. What a worthless bum! ;-7 ;-7

Dude the guy has an arthritic elbow for crying out loud! It's a miracle that he can still hit the way he does.
